Following the inauguration of Tajikistan Cultural Week in Tehran, and negotiations over the expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries, Iran Cultural Week is to launch in Tajikistan.
Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance told the media that Iran and Tajikistan are two big countries with common history, culture and language, and Iranians and Tajiks consider each other as a whole nation due to common interests.
He added, “Mutual language of the two countries is the most important common cultural component that connects the two nations together.”
The minister mentioned that the increase of cultural interactions between Iran and Tajikistan in cinema, theater, music, books and other cultural fields is emphasized by both sides.
The Tajikistan Cultural Week is currently underway in Tehran in the presence of cultural officials and artists of the two countries.
The event hosts performances by artistic groups, including drama groups, music groups, poetry readings by Tajik poets, and an exhibition of paintings, photographs, handicrafts, and national costumes of that country.
